Bisquick dumplings

On the Bisquick box are various recipes for pancakes, biscuits, etc. In years gone by, I’d always made my dumplings using Bisquick and the recipe on the box. It was a simple recipe that you might even be able to remember. One day, I made a chicken stew and pulled down the box to start my dumplings. Unfortunately, the recipe was no longer there. In panic, I called my mother and she read me the recipe from her notebook. A lesson well-learned, and a note in my book and on my fridge.

Bisquick dumplings

Mix 2 cups bisquick mix with 2/3 cup milk until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

  1. Drop dough by spoonfuls into stew
  2. Cook uncovered over low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Cover and cook 10 minutes more. Check the dumplings with a toothpick in center to make sure they are done. If needed cover for a few minutes more.
